Field Technician

Ascent Consulting and Engineering is seeking to add experienced, full-time, Field Specialists, to our team. Positions are available for an immediate interview, at our Clarksburg, West Virginia office.The company is a leading engineering firm in the Appalachian Region and specializing in various engineering disciplines, land planning, environmental, along with materials testing and construction inspection services. Our WV company works on multiple projects spanning several markets and disciplines within the local region.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Willing to work long hours, weekends and shift work.
  • Valid Driver’s License with a Clean DMV Record.
  • Familiarity with heavy earthmoving, underdrain and geogrid installation.
  • Well pad/pipeline construction experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office-Based Programs
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Construction experience
  • Inspection experience.

Required Certifications

  • ACI and WVDOH Certifications (Compaction, Asphalt, aggregate sampler, Portland Cement Concrete.)
  • WV TRET
  • OSHA 10 and 30
  • Safeland
  • OQ401 HDPE Fusion Inspector

Environmental Field Technicians

Qualifications:

  • This position will be part of Ascent’s Field Services team. Candidates will need to meet the following qualifications:
  • Provide environmental expertise to the construction team.
  • Performs daily, weekly, and post-significant rainfall field inspections and maintains inspection records, including photo documentation and daily reports.
  • Oversees implementation of the Erosion and Sedimentation (E&S) Control Plan, including construction sequencing notes, and installation.
  • Clearly communicate the environmental needs of projects and the time-sensitivity of punch list items to contractors.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with regulatory agency personnel.
  • Required ability to traverse rough terrain in inclement weather conditions and walk four or more miles per day.
  • Ability to have a variable work schedule
  • This position will be part of Ascent’s Environmental Services team. Candidates will need to meet the following qualifications:
  • Entry level 0-2 yrs. experience
  • Must be able to identify potential environmental concerns.
  • Must be able to prepare field notes and submit reports.
  • Clearly communicate the environmental needs of projects and the time-sensitivity of punch list items to contractors.
  • •Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with regulatory agency personnel.
  • Ability to traverse rough terrain in inclement weather conditions and walk four or more miles per day.
  • Ability to have a variable work schedule (work nights and weekends when necessary).

Education

  • 3+years’ experience in environmental consulting, oil and gas, and/or construction fields.
  • Must be a team leader
  • Degree or certificate in Environmental Science, Soil Science, or related field.
  • Valid Driver’s License
