Mechanical Division Manager

• Provide leadership/mentoring to junior engineers and technicians.
•Manage mechanical engineering competence and state-of-the-art expertise.
• Perform engineering calculations associated with pump, piping, pressure vessels, tanks, and heat exchangers.
• Provide management of projects including project budgets and schedules.
• Plan, organize and staff key field positions in collaboration with department heads or project/ construction managers.
• Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of corporate policy.
• Initiate and maintain liaison with prime clients, subcontractors, vendors and new business. Support business development efforts such as identification of prospects, development of pursuit strategies, and proposals.
• Represent company in project meetings, assist in labor negotiations/strategy meetings, etc.
• Manage financial aspects of contracts (fee payment, rental equipment, income/expenses, etc.) to protect company’s interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with Client.
• Assume additional responsibilities as directed by Ascent Members.

• Engineering/business degree or equivalent trade school experience.
• Seven or more years experience/knowledge of construction, design, finance and management in the mechanical engineering field required.
• Must be able to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance.
• Thorough understanding of industry practices, processes, standards and the impact of project activities is vital.
• Communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Must be a skilled businessman.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment background check, drug test.

Environmental Scientist Specialist

Ascent Consulting and Engineering is looking for an Environmental Scientist to work under the supervision of our Environmental Division Manager.  The successful candidate must have strong work skills and be able to work well under our natural resources department. Candidate must be able to lead field teams, mentor junior staff, and assist with permitting activities on various public and private sector projects.

  • Ability to travel up to 75% for site assessments, agency coordination meetings, etc.;
  • Ability to work flexible work schedules and availability to meet priority deadlines outside of normal working hours is required;

Inspectors and Construction Managers

Ascent Consulting and Engineering is seeking to add experienced, full-time, Inspectors and Construction Manager, to our team. Positions are available for immediate interview, at our Clarksburg, West Virginia office.

The company is a leading engineering firm in the Appalachian Region and specializing in various engineering disciplines, land planning, environmental, along with materials testing and construction inspection services. Our WV company works on multiple projects spanning several markets and disciplines within the local region.


  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Willing to work long hours, weekends and shift work
  • Valid Driver’s License with a Clean DMV Record
  • Familiarity with heavy earthmoving, under drain and geogrid installation.
  • Well pad/pipeline construction experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office Based Programs
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Construction experience
  • Inspection experience

Preferred Education and Certifications:

  • ACI and WVDOH Certifications
  • OSHA 10 and 30
